What is a personalized video game?
A playable video game made about one specific person or group. They are the main characters, drawn from their photos, and their real life — places, people, jokes — becomes the story and the levels. Ours have three levels, dialog, music, collectibles and a final boss, and play on Windows, Android and iPhone / iPad.
Is a personalized video game the same as a custom video game?
Yes — people use “personalized”, “custom” and “customized” for the same thing. We use “custom” on the order page and “personalized” here; the game is identical. The one real distinction is between our Classic edition (your heroes and story in one of our worlds) and a game built from scratch (a world and mechanics designed only for them).
How much does a personalized video game cost?
Classic is $99, including up to 5 main heroes, three levels, the printable certificate and one free round of tweaks. Rush is $148. A game built from scratch starts at $499.
How long does it take?
4–7 days from the moment your photos and story are in. Rush brings that down when the date is close, and the printable certificate is ready the moment you order, so there is always something to give on the day.
What do I need to send?
One clear photo per hero (a clear view of the face matters more than resolution), a few lines about the places that matter, and any inside jokes, catchphrases or enemies you want in there. The form takes about ten minutes, and you can also just chat with us.
Who can be in the game?
Anyone you have a photo of. Classic includes up to 5 main heroes, plus side characters, pets and a final boss — partner, friends, kids, the dog, the ex-boss.
Is it a real game or a slideshow?
A real game. You run, jump, collect things, talk to characters and fight a final boss. The levels are short and simple — about 20–40 minutes in total — so someone who never plays games can finish it, and the fun is seeing themselves and their story on screen. You can play our examples before you order.
What devices does it play on?
Windows, Android, and iPhone / iPad. You get a private link; no console or download store needed.
Can I give it before it's ready?
